Think Digital

critical thinking & fact-checking for the digital age

📍 Ružomberok, Slovakia🗓️ 16–22 July 2026🏷️ Erasmus+ Youth Exchange (KA152)

a youth exchange in Ružomberok turning passive digital consumers into critical digital citizens — decoding misinformation, algorithms and deepfakes over a 7-day non-formal curriculum.

overview

  • decode digital influence: how algorithms, bias and deepfakes shape what young people see online
  • master fact-checking: verification tools, reverse image search and metadata analysis, hands-on
  • drive responsible citizenship: turning what's learned into a campaign pitched to the local community
  • ends with a public showcase event for Ružomberok's own residents and stakeholders

about this project

Think Digital is a Youth Exchange coordinated by the Slovak organisation IKReON, bringing 37 young people and youth workers from Slovakia, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic (Wild Geese), Poland and Armenia to Ružomberok — a small town in the Žilina region, gateway to the Veľká Fatra National Park. It runs a non-formal, 7-day curriculum that moves participants from mapping their own digital footprint through to designing and pitching a real awareness campaign, closing with a public event for the local community.

what happens

day 1 — digital footprints

a baseline session mapping what participants already share online, and why it matters.

day 2 — misinformation & bias

spotting deepfakes and clickbait, and how algorithmic bias shapes what people see.

day 3 — algorithms & data privacy

how platforms decide what to show you, and what that costs in personal data.

day 4 — ethics & online safety

cyberbullying prevention and the ethics of life online.

day 5 — fact-checking lab

hands-on verification: reverse image search, metadata analysis and other fact-checking tools.

day 6 — campaign design & pitch

turning the week's learning into a real awareness campaign, pitched to the group.

day 7 — final showcase

a public event presenting the campaigns to Ružomberok's local community and stakeholders.
